"Failed to contact key server" Fix

Tutorial how to fix "Failed to contact key server": 1. Find out the "AppID" of the game you need a fix for. Tip: Use CFToolbox to find out: Select the game in Game/Media/Tools and show it's properties, there you'll see the needed "AppID" 2. Open regedit (Start->Run->regedit) 3. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Steam\Users 4. There should be at least one folder named "xxxxxx" (x=0-9) (Depends on how much accounts you are using) 5. You have to find out which one of these accounts you are using Tip: In HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Steam\Users\xxxxxx\Friends\xxxxxx you can see your "Friends" name 6. Create HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Steam\Users\%youraccount%\cdkeys 7. Select this newly created folder 8. On the right side create a new string named the "AppID" you found out before 9. Set the value of the newly created string to a valid key or anything random if you just want to Steam not showing "Failed to contact key server" error anymore 10. Start Steam and play the game.
